This trip was Vivian's first time flying in an airplane, seeing mountains, seeing snow, staying in a hotel, hot tub, etc. Needless to say she had lots of questions for us.
Once we arrived Vivian was very excited about getting her skis. Vivian did really well in her class and definitely exceeded our expectations in ski school. She would cry when we picked her up and begged to ski more and to leave her skis on her feet. We usually calmed her by promising to take her to the hot tub and heated pool.
By the end of the week, Vivian had no fear of speed. She prefers to go straight down the mountain instead of making wide turns. She would lose control and fall some but it didn't scare her.
Vivian had a great ski instructor from England, Becky, who was very patient and made the whole learning experience very fun. Vivian was obsessed with the ski lifts. She was able to do the ski lifts Wednesday through Friday. Monday and Tuesday they concentrated on the "magic carpet" which was a moving sidewalk for the bunny hill where they practiced the basics in turning and stopping. Now Vivian keeps asking when she can get poles since kids begin learning without poles. During ski school, they played a lot of "follow the leader." She always wanted to be the leader with us. Apparently we go too slow.
Jeff and I had a good time skiing both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. We had a ton of snow while we were there. We got almost 3 feet mid-mountain in a 24 hr span. Unfortunately, they had some of the high alpine slopes closed at the end of the week because of the possibility of avalanches. We had fun all week and skied all 5 days.

Wow, look at Vivian ski! We live right next to a very modest ski hill but I never thought Raley might be ready for it. We might just have to take a look-see! Looks like a great trip!
